World ID app asks you to confirm your date of birth if you entered one incorrectly when creating your account, or if you need to show you're over 18 — or older, depending on your country.

You confirm your age with a government ID, which gives you a Proof of Attributes. That's the Proof that lets you show an app your age or nationality without revealing anything else about you.

Each screen will outline the available options for completing the process. These are the following options:

1. Verify Credentials 

If you see Verify Credentials, you can use an NFC-enabled government ID, such as a passport or national ID, to confirm your age and claim a Proof of Attributes.

NFC (Near Field Communication) is a wireless technology that lets your phone read information from a document held close to it — for example, when you tap your phone on your passport. Most modern smartphones have NFC built in. On Android it needs to be enabled in your settings; on iPhone it's always on.

2. Contact Support

You can tap this button to request assistance from our team.

Once you enter the Support chat, please write any of the following sentences or keywords so your request is handled more efficiently:

• I need to change my date of birth
• DOB
• I'm over 18 years old
• I need to verify my age
• My age is incorrect
• Age verification
