How do I verify my age on Tinder using my World ID?

Note: This article applies to users in the United States on iOS devices only.

Tinder has integrated with World ID, allowing you to verify your age (currently available in Japan). This feature lets you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older using World ID’s privacy-preserving verification.

To use messaging features on Tinder, you must verify that you’re 18 years of age or older. Follow the steps below to complete your age verification using World ID.

If you’re having trouble completing the verification, please skip to the Troubleshooting section at the end of this article.

Troubleshooting

  1. Update both apps: Ensure you have the latest versions of Tinder and World ID App installed. Outdated versions can prevent your verification from syncing properly.
  2. Check your device setup: Make sure you don’t have a VPN enabled and that you’re not using dual SIMs while verifying. These can sometimes interfere with the process.
  3. Check your verification method: Confirm that you’re World ID verified using World ID Credentials with an NFC-enabled My Number Card.
  4. Refresh your Tinder account: If you’ve just completed verification, try refreshing your Tinder app or account page. It may take a few minutes for your verification status to update.

The Tinder x World ID integration is currently limited to users in Japan. For future updates, please follow our official channels as shown in this article: How can I connect with World on Social Media?
